    Kate Charters is a Director of Management Solutions (Qld) Pty Ltd, a professional development and training company with particular interest in regional and rural issues at public policy and service delivery levels. Kate has worked at senior levels in government in policy and management and conducted a number of organisational and service reviews across a range of agencies including community groups, peak bodies, government and tertiary institutions.

    Kate is a qualified Company Secretary and is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

    Steven is highly experienced lawyer with an extensive knowledge in all aspects of business and commercial law, with an intimate knowledge of the Corporations Law and the Australian Securities Exchange business and listing rules, being involved in corporate structuring, compliance, corporate takeovers, company floats, the preparation of prospectuses, employee share schemes and advising on directors’ duties, and insolvency and securities law and practice.

    Steven currently lectures:

    • Lecturer College Of Law BLP 6 – Drafting and BLP 7 Business Structures
    • in the Master of Finance for FINSIA in the areas of securities and insolvency and contract law and law, regulation and ethics; and
    • for the Property Investors Association of Australia in security law and practice

    Steven has published a number of articles on commercial subjects.

    Steven lectured for the Australian Institute of Company Directors from 1989-2008, and lectured in the Master and Doctorate courses at UTS in corporations, finance and securities law from 1989-1995, lectured in the Masters of Banking Law Course conducted by Macquarie University and numerous other institutions.

  • Jim Taggart

    Jim has over 30 years of Board level experience across the public, private (financial planning, investment, development) and community (Church, local area support and fundraising) sectors.  Jim has driven change and is actively involved in the community in both executive and non-executive capacities.

    At Board level, some highlights include being a Member Investment Board for the Parramatta Diocese; (Chairman) Salvation Army Advisory Board (Business Appeal); Audit Committee Member, Hills Shire Council; Parramatta Stadium and TAFE NSW Western Sydney Institute.

    Jim provides advice and helps others on how to network and uses the philosophy of giving to the community to gain for yourself.

    Jim’s vision has, and always will be, to add to the current philosophy and success of any organisation that he is involved. Jim is also the co-founder of an online digital portal recruitment platform providing key potential employment opportunities to now over 15,000 people in a low cost-effective and real-time solution environment; the platform is a contemporary, cost-effective and robust tool.

    Kerrie is the Managing Director of the small business solutions company Foundational Business Pty Ltd. She has worked with micro and small business owners helping them grow their businesses for over 10 years as a business consultant through the companies service divisions the Foundational Business Centre, Foundational Business Consulting, Foundational Non Profit Consulting and Foundational Retail Consulting.

    Prior to starting her own business, her career in large corporates included senior management roles for PwC Australia, MCI Worldcom, AAPT and Optus.

    Kerrie is passionate about business and community connection, she is Deputy Chairperson of the Sydney Hills Business Chamber and actively involved in local BNI groups, and serves on the board of charity organisation Men In Action Inc, and runs the Bring A Mate project.

    Kerrie’s key business driver is to increase the effectiveness of small businesses, reducing the rate of failure by providing practical and achievable help to small business owners, to empower and equip them to succeed.

    Schon Condon is the Managing Principal of the Condon Advisory Group.

    Schon has a career spanning over 40 years in Accounting focusing on Financial, Operational, Sustainability and Management advice to help businesses during times of growth, stabilisation and difficulty. He is well recognised within the profession as a leading advisor and media spokesperson. His professional role has seen him in numerous leadership and command roles including President of the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce, Chair of CPA Public Practice Committee, Chairman Hawkesbury Business Connection and President of the Royal Australian Artillery Association of NSW Inc.

    Schon holds a Bachelor of Business Degree from the University of Technology Sydney and a Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of Canberra. He is a fellow of the Chartered Accountants ANZ, Institute of Public Accountants, CPA Australia, and former member of the State and National Public Practice committees, Taxation Institute of Australia, Foundation Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and Member of the Association of Independent Insolvency Practitioners. In addition, Schon is a Commissioned Officer in the Australian Army and has maintained an active Army Reserve career, including being a former Commanding Officer of 23rd Field Regiment, Royal Regiment of Australian Artillery.

  • Nigel Hennessy

    Nigel is a highly experienced company director and business advisor. His current roles include a Councillor with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD); independent director at the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) and a non-executive director for the Australian Institute of Music (AIM). He has been managing his home-based business for the past 20 years in Sydney, Adelaide and in Santa Ana, Southern California, USA. He is a commercialisation advisor to a number of companies on the East Coast of Australia, mainly in the technology sector. He also worked for several years as an Advisor in technology commercialisation to the Federal Government. In this role he assisted start-up and small companies with government grants and also provided corporate advice on fund raising, go to market strategies, value proposition and governance and advisory structures.


    Nigel has an extensive corporate career spaning over 40 years. He holds a degree in Cybernetics and Mathematics and spent nearly 10 years working in the Royal Navy and in intelligence in the UK during the cold war. He came to Australia in the early 1980’s and quickly established a career in the software industry at senior executive levels before developing a Native Title system in Fiji in 1987 during the coup. Upon returning to Australia he started his first start-up business (now standing at 16 start-ups) which grew quickly from just one person to a company of 140 people and a $50M order book before selling in the 1990’s. He was then appointed as the General Manager Defence and Deputy Managing Director at BAE Systems before several other roles at managing director level, including an ASX200 company. In the early 2000’s he moved into private equity, venture capital and has since grown a portfolio of companies in Australia and the USA.

    Jo Bromilow is the Owner and Director of J Bromilow CHAMP Enterprises Pty Ltd, a successful Bookkeeping and administration business founded in New South Wales’ lower Blue Mountains 21 years ago.  She leads a team of five dedicated, experienced and professional staff, and CHAMP has evolved into a well-established and well known boutique agency focusing on bookkeeping, payroll and childcare management and small business.  Jo’s dedication to providing the highest quality of service to her valued clients can be demonstrated by the wide demographic of clients who can be found locally, interstate and internationally.


    Jo is passionate about supporting her local community and working with small businesses from start-up to maturity.  Her inclusive nature and business experience have provided her with many opportunities to mentor other business owners and in turn be mentored by other more established businesses individuals.


    Jo is extremely dedicated to giving back to the local community, and her current formal roles within the Blue Mountains community include:

    She has a Cert IV in Financial Services (Accounting), is a registered BAS agent and a Justice of the Peace.
